The S.S. Katherine Johnson, a spacecraft named after the game-changing mathematician immortalized in the 2016 film “Hidden Figures,” is departing NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on Feb. 20, 2021, at 12:36 p.m. EST. Built by aerospace company Northrop Grumman, the NG-15 Cygnus spacecraft is traveling to the International Space Station to deliver supplies, scientific research, and hardware.
In honor of the upcoming launch of the S.S. Katherine Johnson, we at Zoom hosted a panel of experts to discuss the exciting expedition.
Our own Stephen Ellis, Government Solutions Lead at Zoom, and Kelsey Knight, Global Government PR Lead, were joined by Paul Brower, Lead NG-15 Mission Director for Northrop Grumman; Keith Koehler, News Chief for NASA Wallops; Dr. Barbara Gruber, Director of Education & School Programs at the National Air & Space Museum; Mark Sanutti, Meteorologist and Satellite Engineer supporting NASA’s GOES-R program; and moderator Tom Temin, from WTOP.
